Product Details
I grew up with the classic windmill potholders. My grandmother crocheted these tirelessly, mainly for charity, but also for use in our home. Much later I also crocheted windmill potholders, though of course some details of my version differ from the classic version. The pattern has its own rhythm; after the second round you can see by the color of the previous round which color each stitch of the current round will be. In addition, the pattern takes advantage of one particular trait of crochet: crochet stitches are not directly above each other but lean slightly in each round. The Windmill patterns use this to give a clean outline to each color.
Over time I developed variations on the windmill pattern.
The pattern contains my version of the classical windmill pattern plus three variations. There are photo tutorials for the techniques used; i.e. the Magic Ring and carrying the yarn along inside the work.
The pattern is available in Englishand in German.
