Product Details
This design was inspired by the longing we often feel for things out of season. Like for sunflowers in the depths of winter, or sunshine on a rainy day. So this is a shawl for keeping warm while daydreaming of sun and flowers. The complexity and structure of the lace adapts beautifully to a thick, squishy yarn for a snuggly winter wrap, or looks delicate and elegant in a lace weight yarn for the warmer seasons.
The shawl is a collaboration with Naomi Parkhurst of Gannet Designs, using stitch patterns she has created with the words ‘sunflower’ and ‘sun’ encoded into the structure of the lace.
This design works the sunflower lace into a wide triangular centre panel with a wing of stockinette on either side, and ends with an edging of sun lace.
