Product Details

Every knight needs a sword, but the knight's mother would probably appreciate it if the sword did minimal damage to the knight's brothers, cat, and furniture. Enter Woolbringer: a knitted sword.

The sword is knitted in pieces (blade, cross guards, and hilt), then an internal structure is created with cardboard, paint stir sticks, and tape. You insert the structure into the blade, then seam the pieces together around the stir sticks.

Use any bulky weight yarn you like. Gauge is not terribly critical for this piece, since you trace around your own blade to make the internal structure.
