My husband is a Tugboat Captain so we measure wind in "knots" or nautical miles per hour. 27 knots is Gale Force, strong enough to blow away lots of stuff, including a cable. So there's a complicated story for an odd name. The pattern include instructions for altering the length of the sock so that you can customize the fit!
