The pillow is knit in one piece with the top and bottom closed by Kitchener stitch or sewn seams. The model was knit with worsted weight wool yarn & US 6 needles, and measures approx. 12 in. x 12 in. and has a 12 in. pillow form inside. The finished project can easily be sized up or down by substituting thicker/thinner yarn & larger/smaller needles.
The pattern includes a detailed chart, with written instructions for starting and finishing. Note: this is an intermediate/advanced pattern that does NOT include instructions for knitting in the round, stranded colorwork, reading charts, Kitchener stitch, or Mattress stitch. For the aspiring knitter, many fantastic tutorials for these techniques are just a Google search away.
