The unique shape of this short cape wraps around the shoulders and upper body like a snug hug and buttons in the front. The pattern features rows worked from the top down starting with the collar using the Main Color (MC). Working down in rows from side to side, use an alternate color to complete the middle section and the back section then change yarn to the MC to complete the front. Decrease stitches in places along these rows alter the shape of the cape to fit snug around the shoulders and upper arms.

Finished size: From the top of the shoulder down the lower back 10 inches, from the top of the shoulder down the lower front 13 inches, from shoulder to shoulder across the back 18 inches.
The yarn used in this pattern is Lion Brand Heartland in Black Canyon (2 skeins, 251 yards each) and Yosemite (1 skein, 251 yards). Any color or any #4 worsted with a similar yarn gauge will work for this pattern.
