Possibly the cutest knitted toy you will ever make! Anatomically correct, Al Paca even has toes on his feet. He is quite intricate to knit and techniques include different increasing and decreasing stitches, short row shaping, picot bind off and a structurally sturdy, loop stitch.
Unlike most knitted toys, Al Paca is joined together whilst knitting the body. This means that there is only the back seam to sew up when finished.
- Warning – This toy is not suitable for children under 5. Extra strength has been added to the sample by putting pipe cleaners inside the legs and neck. Drinking straws can also be used.
- Loop stitch is knitted with WS facing
- Use the magic loop technique and circular needles for best results [must have a very flexible cable]. DPNs can be used too.
- Make sure yarn is in position and that stitches are not twisted before joining the round.
