Whilst browsing through my collection of scarf patterns I noticed that I really favoured the simplicity of cosy granny stripe ones. I really wanted one! The problem is that I live in Queensland and it’s far too warm most of the year to wear a scarf like that so I came up with a modified granny stitch - the Almost a Granny stitch, which has the same look but with less bulk - and I made myself a cosy looking scarf from a soft cotton yarn that I can wear from autumn through to spring.
With its simple geometric shape and easy pattern repeat, this pattern is perfect for trying with different colours, yarns and hook sizes for different effects and there are 2 different edging options included. 3 examples are shown at the end of the pattern for inspiration.

- You can use any yarn you like to make this pattern as it has flexible repeats that you can adjust to any size. I used cotton DK to keep it cool.
