Almudena Top

Almudena is a very light summer sweater that I recommend knitting with a very fresh fiber, such as bamboo. Although you also have a version in French sleeves or long sleeves, you can knit it for any season and any yarn. The construction is very simple: you start in the neck and knit top-down, starting with a round yoke decorated with very easy but very colorful lace. When reaching the widest area of the chest, the body is separated from the sleeves, which you leave on hold. The straight body is continued and finished with the same motif as in the yoke to close with an i-cord edge. Waiting sleeves also close in a couple of rounds with an i-cord, although you can choose to lengthen it with a French or long sleeves of your choice.

Its name came to me from the yarn color name that I have chosen for my sample, and also to my great admiration for the writer Almudena Grandes, whom I got to meet and who unfortunately left us some time ago. She is still here for me with her wonderful books.
