Patterned socks might just be the best knitting project of all. There, I said it. Of course, you are free to disagree but at least hear me out. They’re small and generally only need one skein of yarn, so they are super easy to carry with you and fairly gentle on your bank balance. Instructions for the pattern repeat are provided both written and charted. You’ll also find full detailed instructions on how to work a German short row heel but this can easily be substituted for an alternative heel of your choice.
