This is the 4th in the popular "Baby to Toddler" pattern series where the size range is achieved by the choice of yarn and its gauge, and not by the number of stitches on the needle.
All sizes use the same instructions and have the same number of stitches. Lightweight yarns produce sweater sets for 3-12 month old babies, DK Sport weights for 13-24 month olds and worsted weights for 2-3+ year toddlers. Plain plied yarns work best for cables.
The lattice cable pattern has a 16-row repeat with only 4 types of cable crossings. Cable crossings occur once in every 4 rows, leaving 3 rows with simple knits and purls. Complete written instructions and charts are provided for the cables as well as the sweater Sleeve, Back and Fronts. Choose from 3 neckline finishes – Shawl Collar, Crewneck and Turtleneck. The matching hat can have a single or fold-up border. The sweater body is knit on straight needles. The collars and hat require appropriate size circular needles.
