Knitting Pattern for a baby top knot hat, for you to knit yourself. Baby Santas elf hat pattern. This adorable pattern can be knit in plain colours, or stripes. Adjust the length of the 'tail' to be a simple top knot, or a long elf Santa hat. Add a pom pom or a braid. The pattern instructions are given for a hat for a newborn photography prop, through to a three year old toddler. Yarn is any Aran/ Worsted/ 10 Ply yarn. This can be acrylic or alpaca, smooth or fluffy! Knitting needles : 5mm / US size 8 The hat is knit flat, with a seam sewn afterwards. This makes it easier for a less experienced knitter.
