Inspiration Growing up in eastern North Carolina, I spent more weekends than I can count at beaches along the coast. One of my favorites, and one I still daydream about, is Nags Head. The feel of warm sand between my toes. The salty sea breezes. The crashing waves. Such wonderful memories!
Overview Beach Daydreams is a top down, crescent shaped shawl inspired by the beaches of North Carolina. It’s ONE size with an optional expanded border and uses between 800 and 1,200 yards (731-1,097m) of lace weight yarn. Shown in Wollelfe’s Merino Silk Lace Gradient, Young & Stylish, and trimmed with Shibui Knits’ Silk Cloud in Suit.
Difficulty For intermediate to advanced knitters. Stitches used include garter stitch, stockinette and reverse stockinette, basic increases and decreases, twisted stitches, yarn over increases and beaded stitches. Charts only. Includes a spreadsheet to track yarn usage. For personal use only.
