ella is a luxurious oversize long shawl using knitted lace stitch patterns from Victorian era books written by Mrs. Jane Gaugain in 1840-1860. Bella features a simple stockinette center with a rolled-in edge and an elegant leaf lace border.
For the less experienced knitter it is an excellent introduction to knitted lace while being both an interesting, quiet knit for the experienced knitter. Bella is slow knitting at its best. The size is easily customizeable.
