This pattern is being introduced as part of the #youarenotaloneFAST (Fiber Artists Stand Together) effort to raise funds for organizations that support people affected by sexual abuse. 100% of the proceeds from this pattern from Nov. 1 - Nov. 7, and 50% from Nov. 8 - 23, will be donated to DOVE, which provides support to survivors of all types of domestic and sexual abuse in New York City.
Not only was this pattern developed for an important purpose, it is also fun to knit! Working with only one color at a time, and using just knit and purl stitches, the pattern creates the effect of a mesh overlay of the main color over the contrast color. It looks intricate, but is easy enough for a beginner.
Yarn selection: Fingering/ sock yarn, about 130 yards main color and 60-70 yards contrast color. This pattern works well with two solid colors or with one solid and one variegated. It looks best when there is a lot of contrast between the main color and the contrast color.
