Knitted during the coldest days of winter, surrounded by high heaps of snow, the color of the yarn made me think of walking over warm sand in summer. A very pleasant image. That's the simple explanation for the name of this scarf.
It is basically a ribbed scarf which incorporates some slip stitch cables and a little bit of texture to create more interest. The cables can be done with or without a cable needle, both ways are explained in the pattern. The yarn used is a sport weight merino/silk blend. It can easily be substituted by any other yarn. Please note that a different yarn weight will result in a different size. You may want to knit the pattern repeats more or less often. Options for adjusting the size or using different yarns are in the pattern.
