Who doesn’t love a string of colourful bunting flags fluttering in the breeze? They remind me of celebrations… weekends… summer… parties… holidays! This shawl has a built-in border of bunting which runs all along the trailing edge. Every time you complete a section of the pattern you get one more bunting point.
Instructions are given to work 5 sections, and then (based on remaining yardage), an optional 6th section is also offered.
Instructions are written and charted. The sample pictured here uses Happy-Go-Knitty merino/silk “Kashgar” 4ply. The sample has all 6 sections knit; and the last section has switched C2 and C3 so that it gives a contrasting colour effect for the final block (this is not shown in the chart or specified in the instructions, but you can easily make the switch yourself where indicated just by substituting your own colours).
