Cariad Socks

Cariad, the welsh word for sweetheart or darling, a term of endearment.

The Cariad Socks are knitted from the cuff down using a combination of stripes, a simple slip-stitch pattern and stranded colour work with a square heel and wedge toe. Perfect to try your hand at two colour stranded knitting and knitting in the round, a perfect portable project that gives quick satisfactory results and cosy, warm and pretty feet at the end.

For my sample pair I used lovingly hand dyed yarn by West Green Loft Yarns. Use any yarn you like or have in your stash, this is also the perfect project to try out mini hanks.

Materials

1 x 50g West Green Loft Yarns Classic Sock – Col F 75% Merino/25% Nylon – 100g/425m

Set of 5 Mini Hanks West Green Loft Yarns Classic Sock – Cols A – E 75% Merino/25% Nylon – 20g/80m each

Set of 5 Double Pointed Needles – 2.5mm (or preferred method of knitting socks)
