Our Chad Baby pattern contains knitting instructions to make a cardigan and matching hat, featuring a textured pattern to the lower half of the cardigans combined the stocking stitch to the upper parts. There are three varied designs of this cardigans pattern in three different sizes. So you get three patterns in one. It will fit back chest sizes 14-18”, which is Newborn to 12 months approx.
The pattern is an easy knit and suitable for a beginner with some knitting experience of combinations of knit and purl stitches.
The yarn I used for this baby blanket knitting pattern was a shade of King Cole Cherished Baby DK. Each of the cardigan patterns takes 2 x 100g balls. It will knit up in any DK yarn provided you check the tension Please note this design works best with a solid colour due to the textured pattern. Patterns tend to get lost in variegated yarn. It also needs 3 x buttons.
You will also need 3.5mm and 4mm straight needles.
