This beginner-friendly pocket scarf uses a simple, meditative stitch pattern. It can also be used as a prayer shawl. This pattern was originally published in three parts as AllFreeKnitting’s February, 2021 mystery knit along.

Skills UsedBasic knitting stitches: knit, purl Knitting flat in rows, seaming
Gauge9-1/2 sts = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch. Exact gauge is not required for this pattern.
For gauge swatch, CO 10 sts. Row 1: K across. Row 2: P across. Rep Rows 1-2 until swatch measures approximately 4” (10 cm) long. BO in pattern for Row 1. Swatch should measure just over 4” (10 cm) wide.
Pattern uses U.S. knit abbreviations.
