I was inspired to design this square by childhood memories from summers spent at my maternal grandmother's house. Pink roses used to grow on the fence between her back yard and her neighbors's yard. I think the roses actually belonged to the neighbors, but sharing didn't seem to be a problem. This center of this square is a variation on the Irish Rose motif.

Skills used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet Working in rounds, increasing, and joining new colors
Materials Medium weight yarn in 2 colors (30-35 yds/27.5-32 m in each color).
I-9/5.5 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge.
Yarn needle.
