Tracing its way through the Cascade Mountains is the infamous Highway Thru Hell, otherwise known as the Coquihalla or, as locals call it, “the Coq”. This snowbound highway roughly follows the route of the former Kettle Valley Railway, connecting the coastal rainforest of BC’s Lower Mainland with the desert climate of its interior.
This unisex toque is knit bottom up, with all-around twisted rib and a unique cable panel running up the side. The pattern includes options for two sizes and a slouchy or beanie version.
YARN/YARDAGE
Approximately 50-80g (120-190y) DK weight yarn. Shown in The Plucky Knitter Traveler DK.
TOOLS
4mm (US 6) needles for preferred method of working in the round, or size needed to get gauge, cable needle, stitch markers, darning needle
GAUGE
22 st / 4” in stockinette and 27 st / 4” in twisted rib, unstretched, after blocking
