I really do like this poncho. I designed it while on my first trip ever to Prince Edward Island. It has a lovely drape, and the construction is simple -- just TWO CROCHETED RECTANGLES stitched together, leaving room for the head / neck.
The main stitch for this pattern is half double crochet stitches worked in back loops only. The other stitch is wrapped double crochet stitches. Detailed instructions and photos are included for this stitch, just in case you are not familiar with it. This pattern includes a gauge and is basically one-size-fits-most, although guidelines are included for making it larger.
