I designed these fun socks to let knitters celebrate our love of wool, even when we have to dress more formally and hide them in our boots.
Written instructions with charted colour work. There is a section at the end of the pattern with hints and tips on knitting stretchy colour work.
Knitted toe up with a simple short row heel.
Socks are knitted by width and instructions give choice of matching three different foot lengths to each width. Instructions are written so that sock can be knitted using either a circular needle or DPNs.
The sock in the photograph has been knitted using The Dartmoor Yarn Company's 4ply Jacob wool. For suitable alternatives see below.
