From the moment I saw the first trailer for Catching Fire I fell in love with the Cowl that Katniss is wearing. This is one of my versions inspired by her cowl - the rustic warmth, charm and strength of hers, but made with a few changes to make it a little more wearable (and warm!) for every day.
The original garment worn by Jennifer Lawrence in the movie is not a knitted garment, but rather made by hand weaving. I have a nod to this in my versions with the hand woven braid detail that you will see throughout the body portion of this cowl. This pattern includes instructions for making and placing these braided details. You might be tempted to skip these so you can wear your creation faster, but DON'T. You will be glad you didn't!
The finishing process is just as important to me as the knitting, and I have also included the tips I have for making the finishing of your garment just as lovely as the knitting!
