A fun-to-knit shawlette done all in the round.
You’ll create a perfect 32-inch per side square, inspired by EZ’s February shawl/blanket in her Knitter's Almanac. My version has four cabled columns emanating from the center and three different lace sections ending with a simple gartered edge.
This shawl really benefits from self-striping yarn (with long color-runs); the sample shown used 575 yards of a 150g ball of Kauni (in colorway W-EV). A delightful design with directions both charted and row-by-row.
This would also make a great baby blanket or lap blanket!
