Eyelets and yarn overs are the first thing to spring to mind whenever we think of lace stitch patterns. Lace motifs open up fabric giving it an instant feel of drama. FOLIOLE began as a leaf-lace cowl, but after working a couple of repeats I felt the fabric was asking for some texture as well. Here, I have replaced half a leaf with a cable, to give the cowl some structure while keeping the stitch pattern balanced and naturally flowing. FOLIOLE is worked in a DK weight 100% merino, its size can be easily adjusted by working extra (or fewer) multiples of pattern repeats.
