The French Press Sweater is an advanced beginner knitting pattern featuring the Feather & Fan lace and garter stitch.
This project uses 1x1 ribbing, garter stitch, yarn overs, and simple decreases, with the right neck/shoulder decreases as the most challenging but achievable part. Knit flat for the body and sleeves, and in the round for the neck, this sweater is seamed together. Bracelet-length sleeves can be adjusted by adding garter rows.
Circular or straight needles can be used, but circular or DPNs are needed for the neck.
Sizes range from XS to 5XL with 5.5"-8.5" positive ease.
Bust measurements: XS (28”-31”), S (32”-35”), M (36”-39”), L (40”-43”), XL (44”-47”), 2XL (48”-51”), 3XL (52”-55”), 4XL (56”-59”), 5XL (60”-63”).
Required yarn: Approx. 635-1425m/694-1558yds of bulky 100% merino wool, 100g/3.5oz:
XS-635m, S-700m, M-850m, L-975m, XL-1075m, 2XL-1150m, 3XL-1250m, 4XL-1350m, 5XL-1425m.
