These heart designs--Bubbling Bobbles, Loving Knots, and Simply Sweet--plus Squarely Perfect can be combined in endlessly creative ways. Stitch together nine for a 16 x 16 inch throw pillow. Add on more for a blanket or wall hanging. Join two singles back to back, stuff with fiber filling, and you have a toss toy--or a scented sachet with your favorite herbal mix added. Use different colors, yarn weights, and needle sizes to change looks and sizes. Be inventive with embroidery as shown with Simply Sweet and knit up a heart-shaped backing, attaching it to the reverse side to hide yarn ends.
Finished size for each square: 5.25 inches x 5.25 inches. Straight needles used (U.S. no. 7) and a tapestry needle. A stitch holder is used for the heart-shaped backing. Fiber filling is needed if making the toss toy or sachet.
100% cotton yarn, worsted weight, is suggested. Other yarn is suitable. Yardage given is for each square. Additional is needed for stitching up and embroidery work.
