Garter stitch is the first stitch most knitters learn. There are lots of variations of stitch patterns based on garter stitch. This jacket combines garter stitch with a slipped stitch to give the vertical stripe detail. This also helps to stabilise the garter stitch.
The pattern has been re-named Sophie's Jacket and is available from my Ravelry store
