Make good use of your yarn scraps with these Happy Scrappy Coasters!

Style variations: You can achieve different styles of coasters, by simply changing the colours. Working with random mixes of colours will give you a vibrant mandala effect. Working the coasters all in one colour will give you a delicate lacy effect. By coordinating the colours, you can achieve a dainty flower effect.

I have used Aran/Worsted weight cotton yarn for my coasters, but you can use up your acrylic scraps too. They may not be as absorbent, but will still prevent mugs from leaving heat rings on your tables.

The finished coasters measure approximately 10cm/4” in diameter. I have used a 4.5mm hook to keep my stitches fairly tight, which gives the coasters more structure. Exact gauge is not too important.
