This sweater began as a “what if” exercise. What if I had designed an Aran sweater for my Master Knitter Level 3 sweater instead of a Fair Isle one? With that in mind, I set out to design this sweater (minus the bobble requirement!), which is a simple, traditional drop-shoulder silhouette, with saddle shoulders. This could easily be a unisex sweater! Designed to be worn with about 2-4 inches of ease, it’s an easy-to-wear pullover with a wide and comfortable neckline. The soft and scrumptious yarn ensures that it will be cozy in the winter. (I can’t wait until it’s chilly enough to wear it!)
The name is inspired by the Adelaide Anne Procter poem, “A Lost Chord,” which echoes (see what I did there?) the inspiration for the name I gave my Master Knitter Fair Isle sweater. The undulating cables that mirror and echo each other on each side of the center seem to give proof to the name.
