An atypical construction, the body is knit flat, only going in the round for the crown and brim. This pattern is perfect for a hand-dyed yarn where the potential for pooling is used as an advantage.
The pattern is written for 3 different sizes. Small (Infant/Toddler), Medium (Child/Women’s Beanie) or Large (Women’s Slouch/Men’s beanie)
The hat is knit primarily in basket weave stitch. The result is a textural and visually interesting fabric. The directions for basket weave are described in the pattern.
