LOVELY heart can be used in many ways, whether as a gift tag, key ring, ring pillow for a wedding or just for decoration, the heart is a real eye-catcher. This little project is also an excellent way to use up leftover yarn.

The heart is worked seamlessly from the bottom up, i.e. from the tip to the heart arches. The bottom part is worked in the round and shaped using increases. The two heart arches are separated, also worked in the round and closed using the kitchener stitch. Finally, the heart is stuffed with fiberfill and shaped.

Techniques used: work 2 sts out of 1 st (kfb, kbf), Kitchener Stitch.

Leftover Aran weight yarn, for example:

‚Peruvian Highland Wool‘ by Filcolana, (100 % Pure Wool; 100 m/ 50 g) or

‚Como Grande‘ by Lamana (100 % Pure Wool; 120 m/ 50 g) or

‚Double Sunday‘ by Sandnes Garn (100 % Pure Wool; 108 m/ 50 g)

NEEDLES:

A set of dpns (15or20cm/6or8”long) size 3.5mm (US4/UK 10 or 9)
