This pattern uses UK crochet terms and is suitable for a confident beginner keen to improve their crochet skills and master some new crochet techniques. You can use any Aran/Worsted weight yarn and will need approximately 112g in total including pom pom. You may need to adjust your hook size and the amount of yarn to fit your desired size. The hat can be made in just under 2 hours for a quick last minute make or gift. The pattern also includes a FREE bonus cowl pattern too! Yarn amounts are listed for both the hat and cowl in the pattern.
The hat pattern starts with a crown of treble crochet and then continues in the round with the right side always facing you as you work your tweed pattern of front post and back post treble crochets in two contrasting colours. You will finally work a mock rib for the headband in your main colour.
