Icing on the Cake Blanket - US crochet terms

This pattern is for a sweet blanket reminiscent of cupcakes, hence its ‘Icing on the Cake’ name! This version is written in US crochet terms (the pattern is also available in UK terms, please see my other patterns).

The design includes a variety of stitches, including shells, and bobble stiches made on a contrasting colour background. The pattern creates pretty colourful stripes, making a fun and eye-catching blanket.

The instructions are for a baby blanket size (approx. 69 x 83 cm / 27 x 33 inches) but included is the formula you'll need for increasing the foundation chain if you wish to make a wider blanket.

You will need:

~ DK weight yarn in 5 colours, x1 100g skein of each

~ 4mm hook

Tension is not critical for this project but will affect the finished size of the blanket and how much yarn is used.
