Isabella is an easy, relaxing knit in garter stitch with traditional Old Shale lace in the borders at each end, creating attractive waves highlighted by the horizontal stripes. The size can easily be adapted.
The sample is made using one skein each of Madelinetosh Twist Light Flycatcher Blue and Light Horoscope. The pattern works best with shades that complement each other and show off the waves and stripes pattern such as Cousteau/Conference Call, Coquette-deux/Cosmic Wonder Dust or Brass/Soot. Contrasting plain or semi-solid colours can also be used such as Translation/Silver Fox or Tart/Whiskey Barrel. Malabrigo Sock yarn in Whales Road/Natural or Indiechita/Water Green would also give an excellent result. Any 4 ply/fingering weight yarns can be used.
