These cute socks with minimal finishing are worked in one piece, without seams, beginning with the K1, P1 cuff.
The stocking stitch instep can be worked in a single colour or in one-row stripes.
After the instep is worked, the foot stitches are picked up and worked in garter stitch. The contrasting sole is worked in stocking stitch and shaped with short rows. The sole is closed using Kitchener stitch.
The yarn used in the samples is Cleckheaton Superfine Merino 8 ply 65g balls [130m/142yds] but I have suggested using Sublime Baby Cashmere Merino DK or something similar.
Main Colour (M) x 1 ball and Contrast Colour (C) x 1 ball
These quantities will make several pairs of socks. Reverse colours to maximise yarn usage.
These socks have been knitted on smaller needles and at a firmer tension than usual for this yarn to help retain their shape with wear.
