Gauge 20 sts sts in 10cm/ 4in stockinette stitch. Row gauge is not important for this pattern, as all the measurements are given in both centimeters and inches. Only the stitch count matters!
This balaclava is knit all flat. There is no knitting in the round at all. This balaclava is knit flat. It is knit bottom up, and the drawstring tunnel is added afterward.
You will need: up to 180g Worsted yarn, knitting needles to obtain the gauge (for knitting flat), two stitch markers, five buttons, a darning needle, matching thread, and a sewing needle.
The pattern is available in four sizes: 8-12yrs, teen/size s, adult m/l, and adult xl.
