It can be made with or without the solid ends, and can be made shorter to tie around a bun or a pony tail.
Would you believe that you only need to single crochet and chain to make this one??? However, it is not a pattern to mindlessly work on - you will need to keep track of where you are in the rows, especially when starting the lacy section.
