Lanterns

Lanterns. We light them to help see in the dark. I wanted to name this shawl something to remind myself to see the light in the dark winter months.

I often make my own beeswax candles to light up little glass lanterns around my house. A little control over the dark as it comes so early over here on the west coast.

Lantern, from the Greek “lampein” meaning ‘to shine.’ is to remind myself that it’s okay to thrive.

There are two versions: The twisted (orange) and the untwisted (grey).

Both are awesome, the untwisted version is a bit nicer for folks who aren’t used to twisting all of their stitches (it can be quite a switch over). The twisted version is so beautiful though as the twisted stitches provide such amazing stitch definition. And the inspiration for this shawl was absolutely my love of twisted stitches.

Both can be modified to make them larger or smaller so you can alter the size of this shawl quite a bit.
