Combining the appeal of the classic cable sweater with modern flair, the Leaf Pile Sweater features plenty of textured, cabled fun on the front and sleeves and an easy to wear (and knit!) stockinette back. Sized from baby to preteen, this sweater is the perfect layer to keep kids toasty warm during autumn play.
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. Short rows to raise the back neck are worked right into the collar ribbing to provide a comfortable fit in all sizes.
Note: this is an intermediate-level pattern. It includes short rows and following several cable charts at once while incorporating new stitches into cable patterns.
The sweater shown was knit in a DK/light worsted 50/50 wool and cotton blend. You will need approximately 360 (430, 510, 580 / 750, 860, 980) yds or 330 [390, 470, 530 / 690, 790, 900] meters of yarn. Wool, cotton, or blends would all be suitable choices for this sweater.
