Détails du produit

Lewth is worked sideways from tip to tip increasing as you go to the mid point then decreasing. The textured stitch pattern creates a ‘V’ shape that follows the line/shape of the shawl.

Two sizes are offered in the pattern, however, the tip to tip construction makes it ideal if you want to use up whatever quantity of yarn that you have – weigh your yarn at the start, stop increasing when you’re half way through your yarn and then start decreasing. The simple 4 stitch 8 row pattern repeat is ideal for this approach.

‘Lewth’ is Dorset dialect for ‘shelter’ or ‘warmth’ which ca be fond in the poetry of Thomas Hardy and/or William Barnes, who between them have probably done most to preserve the dialect I grew up hearing, but is now rarely spoken.
