Light and lacey top

Anticipating a warm summer, but wanting to continue knitting, the designer envisioned a light and lacey top to wear with shorts, slacks and skirts of the season. "I wanted to create a design that a woman of any age might want to wear", she states. She chose a v-neck, finished with an optional narrow crochet or knitted edging; soft sleeves stopping just above the elbow and a simple, but pretty lace pattern knit from the bottom up, virtually eliminating seams. Neckline finish has 2 options. A soft, narrow stockinette finish on lower edge and sleeves needs no further attention. The garment’s one piece construction and the easy lace stitch make this top a fun, fast and easy project. Fingering or sock weight yarn perhaps a soft cotton is appropriate.
