YARN: DK Weight: 650m minimum for SIZE 1 --- 900m minimum for (SIZE 2)
MEASUREMENTS: SIZE 1: 70cm x 74cm SIZE 2: 70cm x 100cm
The stitch patterns in this design, combine to produce a blanket of heirloom status, especially when worked in a yarn with good stitch definition. You need to be able to knit & purl, work basic eyelets, as well as understand the nature of temporary stitch increases in a row, which are later decreased in another row.
The original (SIZE 2), is not only useful for wrapping baby in, but with care, will ‘grow up’ with baby, to be forever useful. The layout is symmetrical & it makes a lovely lap blanket for adults. The newer, smaller SIZE 1, is designed as a car seat or stroller blanket. It features a simpler layout which can also easily be modified to knit a blanket of any size (modification guidance is included).

- I used a 5mm with DK, for extra drape. You could use a light/worsted if you wish, but you might need to allow more length.
