If you are looking for a 'quick to knit' baby gift the Lorna Baby Blanket and Hat fits the mark.
Knitted in a warm and practical chunky yarn using a simple but effective raised stitch design created by simple yarn overs and decreases.
The blanket is one sized but the hat is given in two sizes 0-6 Months and 6-12 Months so knit one blanket and the hat in each size which will last baby through their first year.
Shown here knitted in James C Brett Baby Marble Chunky which comes in shades suitable for both baby girls and baby boys. If knitting using another brand of baby chunky yarn please check the yardage on the ball band as not all chunky yarns have the same yardage and you may require more than the 300g given on the pattern.
You will also need 5mm & 6mm knitting needles and an optional button to decorate the brim of the hat.
The pattern is easy to read and set out in a good readable print size.
