Backing the blanket with fabric is optional.
No sewing machine is needed but a basic knowledge of hand sewing is required to sew the backing to the crochet blanket - I have included close up, step by step photos showing you exactly how to sew the backing onto the blanket.
A great first pattern for beginners as there is no counting or complicated stitch patterns.
