Mariposa Pullover

Classic while still contemporary, this V-neck pullover is the perfect way to transition from work to play. Wear it the office, then dress up a pair of jeans for after hours. This is one piece that will look great in almost any color, though solid or semi-solid colors will look best. The name comes from the single pattern motif on each sleeve, which reminded me of a butterfly. The body is worked in the round to the beginning of the V-neck shaping, with the lace panel on the front only. After dividing the work to begin shaping the front neck, work is further divided at the armholes for the front and back. The sleeves are worked in the round to the underarm length, then the sleeve cap is worked back and forth. A single pattern motif is worked on each sleeve, then work continues in stockinette stitch.
