A top-down V-neck cardigan with elaborate stripe patterns and elbow-length sleeves. The smooth neckline and body shaping add a feminine touch to the boyish garment. Two strands of yarn are held double throughout, so have fun with colours.

The cardigan is worked top down seamlessly. After the yoke is complete and sleeve sts are set aside, the body is worked in flat to the hemline. The sleeve sts are then returned to the needles and worked in the round. After the elbows there is a progressive change to only one strand of yarn to the cuffs. Button-band sts are picked up and worked in short-rows.

Stripe sequence:

When choosing two colors of yarn, select two of similar intensity, so as to achieve a hand-dyed yarn effect and to avoid a marled result that might be too busy. This way the focus will be kept on the striping.
