Melati Hat is a reversible hat with flower crown on top. Melati (pronounced Mæ-la-tee; means Jasmine flower in Bahasa Indonesia) is Indonesian national flower, often used in many occasions in Indonesia. The use of Jasmine flowers can also be found in daily consumption such as Jasmine tea.
I am using drop stitch which I interpret as Jasmine flower motif for body. Jasmine flower motif in this hat reminds me of “Roncean Melati”, traditional head piece accessories used by brides in traditional Javanese wedding. The flower crown on top is my version of Rose, the symbol of women’s beauty.
